Best RSS reader

Lire is far and away the best RSS reader in the iOS store

great app!

i really like the new fast action. thanks for voiceover support!

Updated from 1 to 4 stars, GREAT and CLEAN reading app!

Great app, many options for reading aficionados, and nice consistent updates to fix issues. Love the recently added night mode and the full justify full screen text!

TINY interface design, Fleksy ads

Why is everything so freakin small? Accessibility options and yet the interface is micro sized? Why, when I go to paste an RSS feed it gives me a Fleksy ad??!

Great reader

Fully supports Voice Over

Awesome app

I cannot believe that this app isnt showing up on the App Stores front page. It literally does what so many other RSS apps fail to do, and does it well. There are also several features that lire pulls off that others dont even attempt. Its fantastic, and it just received a marvelous makeover. When I first saw this app, I practically dug it out of the ground in a search, and when I read the first few lines of the description, I couldnt believe that no one else had thought of it, yet alone attempted it, and moreover done such a great job solving a seemingly major shortcoming of every other RSS app-- truncated articles. Genius. Development has been on-point, updates have been consistently addressing issues and adding more useful features still. I dont write many reviews, but lire deserves way more attention.

Makes RSS enjoyable

I was very frustrated with using RSS feeds until I found this app. It is so cool to be able to read all the articles within the app without having to go out to external websites. As a blind user I really appreciate the commitment by the developer to keep the app accessible with voiceover. In some ways I think the Apple might even work better under voiceover that with the normal method of access there is one annoying thing about this app however. If I am reading an article and then minimize the app I will not be taken back to the same article when I open the app again. It seems to default the main screen most times after being launched from the app switcher The only annoying thing about the app that I can think of is this. When you are reading an article and then minimize the app the article about to be loaded when you come back. It seems to always default to the main screen. Hopefully this will be addressed. The developer is very good about providing

Excellent Full RSS Reader

By far the best RSS reader Ive used. It can however use just a few minor adjustments. After getting fed up with just partial articles showing up in my feeds, I went on the search to find a full RSS converter that didnt take long to convert my feeds. In my search I found lire and it is infinitely better than any RSS converter can be. Syncs with my Feedly account and instantly converts partial feeds to full feeds. Admittedly this doesnt work on every site, but thats due to how some sites format their articles making it difficult for the feed to be properly converted. This issue happens with many converters, so I do not count that as a fault against lire. Regardless, because of this feature I have found myself reading more articles than I had previously and subscribing to more feeds knowing that I can read them how *I* want to read them. I would like to see just a few things added to the app to make it even better. 01. A confirmation pop up before "Delete all articles" Due to a slip of my thumb, I accidentally ended up deleting a few articles from the app when I intended to just mark them as read. A "Are you sure you want to delete? Yes. No." pop up couldve prevented this. 02. A way to mark articles unread when already reading them. Sometimes I start to read an article only to see that its much longer than I have time to give it attention. It would be much quicker and much more convenient and intuitive to mark it unread from within the article rather than backing out, going to the "Read" section of the feed, finding the article if its deep down the list, and then long pressing on it to mark it unread. 03. The ability to long press on links or linked images within the article and be able to copy the URL instead of having to go through the in app browser to do it. These are the only things so far I wish would be included to make lire even better than it is now. Other than that, Im really glad I found this little app and hope for its continued improvement and development.

An Excellent RSS Reader—Except That It Does Not Open Articles Where It Left Off

Lire is a one-of-a-kind RSS app that makes my power-reading of articles an easy, pleasant, and—importantly—comprehensive experience; I would go as far as to say that it has freed my life from the inconvenience of endlessly knocking around the web for articles. Still, there is room for improvement: After a period of being backgrounded, the app resets to the default menu but never picks up a previously opened article where it left off (e.g., the way Instapaper does), resulting in lost, half-read articles. Therefore, I would advise the developer to aim, in this sense, for a somewhat Instapaper-like experience, allowing the user to stay in the "flow" of reading at all times. If my suggestion is implemented, I will be happy to give Lire the five-star rating it amply deserves. Many thanks for this wonderfully useful app!

My God is this app beautiful

Keep up the good work! Can you make a notification widget? I think that would be an excellent in app purchase I would pay for

Best Rss-read on the AppStore..!!

This is by far the most amazing rss read app on the AppStore.. All aspects and detailed settings are taken care of.. Fully customizable and personal usable, background refreshing ability, cashing, storage control sharing and saving and more...!! I simply love it.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ P.S: when customizing settings it was jamming a bit, but you do settings once anyway..! (Im on iPhone 5)

Not optimized for 6 or 6 plus

Otherwise a fine app. As is, it looks terrible.

Beats every other well-regarded reader app.

Ive tried them all, and each fails in some fundamental way where Lire doesnt. Great gesture support, continual development, and killer offline sync.

Fantastic app

Best reader out there and extremely fast customer support! $5 well spent.

Excellent Features

Lots of customizability behind the minimalist style.

won’t work with 8.1.2

fine app, but instable

Awesome!

This is my go to rss reader. I really love the ability to get the full text of the articles. That feature is great for when Im going to be in a non-WiFi area. The VoiceOver support is also second to none, and continues to imp.

Exactly what I was looking for

I love the fact that it immediately loads every article in the same plain text format. I came from Feedly and although its also a great app after a while I got sick of clicking again to get into the full article. Definitely worth the money. Will become my daily driver.

Built for road warriors

On my desktop its Read Kit. But on my phone and iPad its been Lire for the last couple years. Hands down. I have purchased countless RSS Newsreader apps, many I like a lot and I can only recommend three out of the literal dozens I have, only two of those work on iPhone. To be fair to all concerned Ill only say Lire is my number one choice of those top three. And I am an RSS news junkie. Big time. Its primary benefit: downloads the mornings feeds for all-day (if necessary) off-line reading. No cell-phone data bandwidth needed. I also love its ability to parse feeds into a nice text-only format, a lot like reading a paper. Also there are a lot of optional customizability settings. This thing will look and work the way you want it to. And it works as a stand-alone or sync through Feedly or other services. Finally, and most important to me: the developer is alive. This app is alive. I am seeing regular app updates every month or two, which I believe is important: bugs, glitches, and so on are a lot more likely to be caught and fixed in this app quickly (which are also pretty rare at this point.) Seriously: Lire is freakin awesome and worth more than what is being charged for it.

Keeps getting better

This is the best reader interface, and the most frequently refined and updated app on my iPad. Please fix parsing the NY Times! Would love tags and Newsblur support.
